Kristi Capriglione is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey and a National Certified Counselor. She is also an active member of the American Counseling Association. Kristi obtained her M.A. in Counseling from Kean University.
Kristi has experience working with children, young adults and adults on an individual and group level who are experiencing grief. On a weekly basis she facilitates a grief support group for young adults. In previous years, Kristi co-facilitated grief groups for children who have lost a loved one. It is through these individual and group therapy sessions that Kristi learns from her clients that the grief process is unique to each individual. This understanding helps Kristi strive to provide a safe environment for all her clients so they can become comfortable in sharing their story.
Over 6 years ago, Kristi was a student in Dr. Norma Bowe's Death in Perspective class. Not until a few years after the class did she realize the full impact it had on her life. Her realization was brought on by witnessing her own mother's battle and eventually death from cancer. It was Dr. Bowe's class that gave Kristi the proper tools to understand her mother's journey towards death and help to give herself permission to mourn, accept and rebuild a life without her mother.
In Kristi's spare time, she often volunteers with Be The Change on various projects. She also had an opportunity to volunteer with displaced youth in Aruba. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her niece and nephews as well as traveling, reading and crossing off items on her bucket list such as skydiving.
